Every charter includes professional-grade tackle, but it helps to know what’s actually on board and why our captains choose it. Here’s a look at the gear that goes out with you.
Rods and Reels
We run a mix of stand-up and bent-butt trolling rods paired with lever-drag reels, sized to the species we’re targeting that day. Lighter setups come out for mahi-mahi and ono; heavier gear is rigged when we’re specifically targeting marlin or ahi.
Lures and Bait
Our spreads typically combine trolled lures — cedar plugs, resin heads, and feathers in a range of colors — with natural bait like ballyhoo when conditions call for it. Your captain adjusts the spread throughout the day based on water color, temperature breaks, and what the fish are actually doing.
Safety Gear
Every boat carries US Coast Guard-required safety equipment, including life jackets sized for every guest, a first-aid kit, and marine communication equipment, so you can focus on fishing instead of logistics.
