What to Bring on Your Hawaii Deep Sea Fishing Charter — Part 2

A day offshore in Hawaii is part adventure, part sun exposure, so packing right makes the difference between a great trip and an uncomfortable one. Here’s what our crew recommends bringing along.

The Essentials

  • Reef-safe sunscreen (SPF 30+) and a hat with a strap
  • Polarized sunglasses — they cut glare and help you spot fish beneath the surface
  • A light, breathable jacket or windbreaker for the ride out
  • Non-slip, closed-toe shoes with good grip
  • A reusable water bottle — we keep it filled, but bring your own to start
  • Motion sickness medication if you’re prone to it, taken before you board

What We Already Provide

Rods, reels, tackle, bait, ice, and safety gear are all included on every charter, so you don’t need to bring your own fishing equipment unless you have a favorite setup you’d like to use. Snacks and drinks are provided on most trips — ask when you book if you have specific preferences.

Leave the cooler at home unless you’re planning to take your catch straight to a party — we’ll pack your fish for you at the end of the trip.
